Pay Grade

This is a 12 month position for 232 days at a minimum salary of $64,587/yr.


  • Two (2) years experience supporting wide area networks

  • Work independently with minimal supervision to support wide area network services to school districts and Region 13 core technology services.


  • Knowledge of multi-protocol networks, router configurations, wide area and local area networking equipment configuration, network security including firewall configuration, multi-platform servers including Windows and Linux

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Cisco switches, routers and firewalls, network forensics and data packet analysis, wireless network design and management, DNS/BIND, Linux

  • Knowledge of data backup procedures and virtual server environments desirable


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (required). Extensive experience in networking (eight years) may be considered

  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator certificate or equivalent required


  • Serve as a representative of the Center, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public

  • Monitor network status and benchmark performance daily for wide area and local area network

  • Manage equipment configurations and installation for wide area network services

  • Manage network firewalls and intrusion detection systems

  • Manage and monitor wireless networks

  • Provide telephone and on-site network support to school districts

  • Conduct server installations and management

  • Participate with network planning, design, and equipment requirements

  • Perform other duties as assigned
