Based on feedback received from interim assessment users and educators, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) will provide student-level data files for the 2018–2019 STAAR Interim Assessments on a weekly basis beginning December 20, 2018. These are the same student-level data files previously anticipated for release twice per year—once at the end of each testing window. Moving forward, the student data file will be posted and updated by Thursday of each week. The file serves as a complement to the Online Reporting Suite and can help tailor instructional practices to address students’ needs.
The student data file will be posted to the STAAR Assessment Management System at http://www.TexasAssessment.com/ in the Reports > Results tab. The initial data file consists of students who have submitted tests from August 31–December 14, 2018. For information about the interim data file format, see the STAAR Interim Assessments User’s Guide at https://www.texasassessment.com/uploads/2018-2019_Interim_Assessments_User_Manual.pdf.
Please note that English I and English II do not assess Reporting Category 4. This will be identified within the data file in the strengths and weaknesses fields as a “9” value and a “0” value within the raw score field.
