Announcing the 2018 – 2019 Behavior Coach Endorsement Program

Our Behavior team at the Education Service Center, Region 13 is pleased to announce we’re officially accepting applications for Cohort 12 of the Behavior Coach Endorsement Program! The endorsement program is an intensive, 240 hours of training for administrators, counselors, teachers, and paraprofessionals who wish to become a behavior specialist.

This program focuses on a multi-tiered system of behavior supports, as we spend the 240 hours training you in the following topics:

1.  Whole school behavior interventions and preventions.
2. Intensive interventions for students with significant challenges.
3. Best practice models of behavior and discipline.
4. Social Emotional Learning training.
5. Restorative Discipline training.

When does the Behavior Specialist training take place?

Our program goes throughout the 2018 – 2019 school year. We have two Monday night trainings from 6pm to 9pm and one Saturday per month. Additionally, there are two weeks of training in the summer.

To make things easier for you, we have distance learning options available for participants who would rather not make the commute to our center here in Austin. Our previous cohort had participants throughout the state, and we look forward to expanding our reach into Texas schools.

If you’re an interested candidate, you must must submit a current resume no later than January 1st, 2018 to be considered for the program. Resumes should be emailed to Angela Isenberg at The training costs $2500.00 with scholarships of up to 1500.00 per candidate being awarded.

    1. Hey Beverly,

The scholarship is a max amount of $1500 and is awarded on a first come basis until the scholarship fund has been depleted. Your resume does not need any special components, but we would like to see the work history within education, any special work you’ve done in behavior, and a brief cover letter about your interest when you submit.

Once you’ve submitted your resume, Angela Isenberg should get back in touch with you as soon as she can with more information on scholarship funds, etc.

        1. Hey Angelica,

The program does not require any specific degrees to participate. In the past we’ve had all types of people joining, some with degrees and some without.
