Instructional Materials Allottment (IMA) & Educational Materials System (EMAT)

On April 5th we discussed updates to instructional materials and EMAT at Curriculum Council. TEA released a new informational letter on April 13th that adds to our understanding of new processes for IMA and EMAT:

  • EMAT will close on April 27th for the current year.
  • EMAT will reopen on May 7th for the 12-13 school year.
  • The instructional materials allotment will be available when EMAT reopens. In addition, a “settle up” calculation will be provided in relation to unexpended funds.
  • The United States Department of Education Office of Civil Rights has issued a document containting frequenly asked questions related to the providion of accessible / equitable technology and software to deliver instructional services to individuals with disabilities.
