Sequestration Saga

Here is the latest news……

News from the Office of the Chief Grants Administrator:

On August 7, 2012, President Obama signed the Sequestration Transparency Act, which requires the administration to submit a report to Congress within 30 days that includes the estimated cuts of sequestration at the program/activity level.

Despite this new legislation, the administration continues to call on Congress to act before the January 2, 2013, deadline to avoid the cuts that would be caused by sequestration. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has estimated that sequestration will cut 7.8% from federal education programs.
