The Food Science Teacher Professional Development course is designed to prepare educators to teach Food Science to high school students in Texas. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be aware of key issues related to food science and how to access additional resources for more in depth research, assistance, or training.

There are 6 sections of Food Science. It is recommended that course sections be taken in order.

* Teachers who were assigned to teach this course in 2010-2011 and/or 2011-2012 will have 12 months from the date the course is first offered to meet the TEA-approved training requirement. For teachers who have not previously taught this course, once a district has confirmed that a teacher is enrolled in and making progress toward the completion of the online PD course, the district may assign the teacher to teach the high school course.
