Elementary Students in Texas Algebra Ready: ESTAR Academies

girl on bikeThe ESTAR Academies for grades K-2 and 3-4 are just around the corner!
The fees for these trainings have been waived due to state funding through the TEKS PD grant.

ESTAR Academy K-2  (Oct. 8-9, 2012)

This two day academy (Elementary Students in Texas Algebra Ready) is designed to further define algebra readiness and discuss the implications for classroom instruction in grades K-2. Participants will learn valuable classroom instructional strategies that support algebra readiness, as well as explore supports and differentiations for diverse learners. The primary focal areas for this training are on Whole Number Fluency, Fluency with Word Problems, Fluency with Facts, and Fluency with Fractions.  (12 hrs. CE credit)

ESTAR Academy 3-4  (Oct. 17-18, 2012)

This two day academy (Elementary Students in Texas Algebra Ready) is designed to further define algebra readiness and discuss the implications for classroom instruction in grades 3 and 4. Participants will learn valuable classroom instructional strategies that support algebra readiness, as well as explore supports and differentiations for diverse learners. The primary focal areas for this training are on Fluency with Whole Numbers, Fraction Concepts, and the relationship between Fractions and Decimals.  (12 hrs. CE credit)

ESTAR II Academies Coming Spring 2013!
This new training will emphasize research-based Tier II strategies. Participants will also learn to interpret results of the ESTAR Universal Screener and use these results and other forms of data to make instructional decisions.
