2012-2013 Student Success Initiative (SSI) Grants to Schools


The Texas Education Agency has posted information regarding funding amounts to eligible local educational agencies (LEAs) and information about applications and grant requirements at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index2.aspx?id=2147508658. Please note that applications must be submitted through the  eGrants system by 5:00 p.m. Central Time, October 12, 2012.

The goals of the SSIG are as follows:
To identify and implement appropriate interventions for struggling students in grades K–12
To increase the number of students who are academically ready to meet or exceed the passing standards on state assessments
To improve instructional effectiveness of teachers and school leaders

Please do not hesitate to contact us for support in the key practices of the grant:

Provide instruction that allows the teacher and students adequate time to engage in focused, comprehensive instruction and learning.
Promote professional development aligned to the goals of this program and designed to improve instructional effectiveness of teachers and school leaders working with struggling students.
Provide opportunities for teachers and school leaders to participate in coaching sessions.
