ESTAR Academy

ESTAR Academy 3-4 is a pre-requisite for the NEW ESTAR II Academy coming in February 2013.

The $150.00 registration fee for this training has been waived due to state funding through the TEKS PD grant. Participants in the 2012-2013 ESC Region XIII Texas Regional Collaborative for Math should use their discount code to ensure that credit hours are properly documented. All other participants should use the discount code TEKSPD1213.

The two day ESTAR Academy for grades 3-4 is designed to define algebra readiness and discuss the implications for classroom instruction in grades 3 and 4. Participants will learn valuable instructional strategies that support algebra readiness, as well as explore supports and differentiation for diverse learners. The primary focal areas for this training are on Fluency with Whole Numbers, Fraction Concepts, and the relationship between Fractions and Decimals.

This training is appropriate for grade 3 and 4 teachers, district leaders, instructional coaches, interventionists, special education, ELL and bilingual teachers.

Results from the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning demonstrate that  students (learning disabled and non learning disabled) consistently raised end of unit assessment scores when taught the Concept Mastery Routine.
