Proposed Revisions to Graduation Requirements

Please see the following information communicated by the Texas Education Agency regarding public comment on Graduation Requirements.

Proposed Revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 74, Curriculum Requirements, Subchapter B, Graduation Requirements
Summary: The proposed rule actions would repeal graduation requirements that are no longer needed and add new rules for the foundation high school graduation program, as required by House Bill 5, 83rd Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2013.
Public Comment Period: December 20, 2013 – January 2014 SBOE meeting.
Earliest Possible Date of Adoption: January 2014 SBOE meeting.
Proposed Effective Date: 20 days after filing as adopted with the Texas Register.

Please see http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index4.aspx?id=2296 to view rules. You may submit comments on proposed rules to rules@tea.state.tx.us. A request for a public hearing on a proposal submitted under the Administrative Procedure Act must be received by the commissioner of education not more than 14 calendar days after notice of the proposal has been published in the Texas Register. Unforeseen circumstances may delay publication of the agency rules in the Texas Register. The Rules website will be updated to reflect any changes.
