Instructional Materials Allotment for School Year 2014-2015

The Texas Education Agency posted at letter to the Administrator Addressed on March 19th regarding Instructional Materials Allotment for School Year 2014-2015In an earlier communication April 2nd was identified as the date for EMAT to open for the 2014-2015 school year orders. In the posting on March 19th TEA communicated a change in this date. “Due to the large number of products adopted through Proclamation 2014, the Educational Materials (EMAT) system will open later than originally anticipated. For the 2014-2015 school year, EMAT will open on April 21, 2014.”

Additional information regarding IMA and EMAT:

  • Funding for the 2014-2015 school year will not be available until September 1, 2014.
  • Districts and open enrollment charter schools may use unexpended funds from 2013-2014 for Instructional Materials including continuing contracts, technological equipment, and/or technology services.
  • If unexpended funds are not available, districts and open-enrollment charter schools may participate in the new Delayed Payment Option.
  • Instructional materials for the visually impaired (Braille, Large Type and Audio) remain the property of the state and will not be counted against a district’s IMA.
  • TEA has developed Instructional Materials Allotment training videos to assist new and existing instructional materials coordinators. The training videos are posted at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index2.aspx?id=25769809318.
