OnRamps: Dual Credit

OnRamps is a suite of blended learning courses to be offered for dual credit. The courses in Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Computer Science, and ELA are developed by faculty at The University of Texas at Austin. OnRamps program and courses include unique design features.


  • Dual-credit courses may be taught by teachers who do not have a master’s degree
  • Students can receive UT content and UT credit without having to pass the TSI assessment
  • Teachers receive course materials developed by UT-Austin that:
    • Aligns directly with content and skill expectations of entry-level university classes
    • Applies the latest research about how students learn best
    • Incorporates best-in-class technologies to help teachers and students make data-driven decisions
    • Are customizable, allowing teachers to design instruction and develop tools for their students
  • Teachers receive comprehensive professional development from UT-Austin that includes:
    • 2-week summer professional development institute for teachers (Tentative Dates: July 21 – August 1,2014).
    • Two, one-day workshops in the fall and spring semesters
    • Ongoing course coordination and network support from UT Austin faculty in course content, pedagogy, and educational technology
  • OnRamps is an economical way for high schools to offer courses with college credit (as mandated in Texas Education Code §28.009)
