Supporting Highly Qualified Paraprofessionals and Substitute Teachers

“NCLB requires paraprofessionals assigned to instructional duties on a Title I, Part A Schoolwide served campus or those that have at least part of their salary paid for by Title I, Part A on a Targeted Assistance campus to meet the Paraprofessional Highly Qualified requirements.” For requirements please see the TEA website at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index4.aspx?id=4670.

ESC Region 13 provides support for meeting these requirements through Paraprofessional Certification Training.

Paraprofessional Certification Training:

Dates: August 20 – 23
E-Campus #SU1426467
Fee: $225
*See the 2014 Para Flyer and/or view: www.esc13.net/paraprofessional for more detailed information about this HQ certification training.

Additionally, we recognize the need for trained substitute teachers to ensure consistency for students when teachers are away from their classroom.

A new outreach has been developed to support the professional development needs of substitute teachers. We are offering a TOT for school administrators as well as face-to-face training for substitute teachers.
