Official Public Comment Period for LOTE TEKS for Classical Languages

“The proposed revisions to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for LOTE relating to classical languages, which were approved by the State Board of Education (SBOE) for first reading and filing authorization at the July 2014 meeting, are available for public comment until Wednesday, September 17. Following the official public comment period, the board will take action to approve these changes at the September SBOE meeting. Please visit http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index4.aspx?id=25769814711 to view the proposed revisions and submit public comments.”

*Proposed**: Revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 114, _Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Languages Other Than English_, Subchapter C, _High School_*

*Summary:* The proposed rule actions would add new Texas essential knowledge and skills (TEKS) for classical languages for implementation in the 2016-2017 school year.

*Public Comment Period: *August 2014 – September 2014 SBOE meeting.

*Earliest Possible Date of Adoption:* September 2014 SBOE meeting.
