Public Comment Period for Commissioner’s Rules

Communication from TEA:

Notice of Proposed Review. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) proposes the review of 19 TAC Chapter 150, Commissioner’s Rules Concerning Educator Appraisal, pursuant to the Texas Government Code, §2001.039.

Summary: The rules being reviewed by the TEA in 19 TAC Chapter 150 are organized under the following subchapters: Subchapter AA, Teacher Appraisal, and Subchapter BB, Administrator Appraisal. As required by the Texas Government Code, §2001.039, the TEA will accept comments as to whether the reasons for adopting 19 TAC Chapter 150 continue to exist. The TEA intends to revise 19 TAC Chapter 150 in the fall of 2015 in order to align appraisal rules to the new teacher and principal evaluation systems, which are scheduled for statewide rollout during the 2016-2017 school year.

 

Public Comment Period: December 12, 2014 – January 12, 2015.

Earliest Possible Date of Adoption of Review: January 12, 2015.

Summary: The rules being reviewed by the TEA in 19 TAC Chapter 153 are organized under the following subchapters: Subchapter AA, Commissioner’s Rules Concerning School District Personnel Duties and Benefits; Subchapter BB, Commissioner’s Rules Concerning Professional Development; Subchapter CC, Commissioner’s Rules on Creditable Years of Service; and Subchapter DD, Criminal History Record Information Review. As required by the Texas Government Code, §2001.039, the TEA will accept comments as to whether the reasons for adopting 19 TAC Chapter 153 continue to exist.

Public Comment Period: December 12, 2014 – January 12, 2015.

Earliest Possible Date of Adoption of Review: January 12, 2015.
