The Commissioner has just released his final decisions regarding the state accountability ratings for 2015.  These decisions are based on recommendations from the Accountability Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) and the Accountability Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC).

Highlights include:

  • mathematics for grades 3–8 will be excluded from the 2015 state accountability system
  • STAAR Accommodated (STAAR A) and STAAR Alternate 2 will also be excluded from the 2015 state accountability system
  • the performance standard in Index 1 is increased from 55 percent to 60 percent.

You can view the press release at the following link.  An overview of the substantial differences in state accountability between 2014 and 2015 is available on the TEA website at http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/account/2015/materials.html.

Selected chapters of the 2015 Accountability Manual will be released in late May 2015 and the entire manual will be available online in July 2015.
