Prekindergarten Guidelines

The Texas Education Agency recently shared the following information through the Early Childhood Listserv:

“The Prekindergarten Guidelines review committee was identified by the TEA and began work in October to ensure quality, clarity, specificity, and alignment with the current kindergarten TEKS. The focus of the initial revision is the end-of-prekindergarten outcomes for each of the domains in the Prekindergarten Guidelines.

The following documents are a draft of the review committee’s recommended revisions to the Prekindergarten Guidelines. Your input and comments on the proposed revisions will help to inform the review committee’s final recommendations for the Prekindergarten Guidelines. Please provide your feedback by November 25, 2015. If you provide specific comments and recommendations for any of the numbered domains, please identify the domain and end of year outcome by number, (e.g. V.A.3.) If you wish to provide feedback on any of the child behaviors or instructional strategies, indicate the domain and end of year outcome for which the behavior or instructional strategy is an example.

You may submit your comments to the Curriculum Inbox at curriculum@tea.texas.gov. Please indicate Prekindergarten Guidelines in the subject line.”
