Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) Selection Committee Applications

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is seeking experts in the fields of math and/or science education to review and evaluate applications for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). PAEMST is the highest recognition that a kindergarten through 12th grade mathematics or science teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States. Selection committee members will have the opportunity to view videos of outstanding Texas teachers in the classroom and work with colleagues from institutions of higher education and district leadership positions as well as previous PAEMST awardees in selecting finalists to represent our state for this prestigious teaching award. Applications for educators teaching Grades K – 6 will be reviewed. The review and evaluation of applications will occur between May 1 and June 10. Some steps of the review are conducted online and must be completed between May 1 and May 31. Additional information and the online application are available on the TEA Mathematics webpage. All reviewers will be able to earn CPE credits for participating in the review process.
