Intervention Support

With the implementation of the STAAR assessment program we know that it is even more critical to provide quality RtI support for students in all grade levels. Early assessment and intervention support is needed to assist students in making progress to ensure their success as the school year progresses. See the STAAR Navigation Guide for August 2012 at for more information regarding instructional considerations.

At Curriculum Council on November 1st Cindy Hamilton and Jennifer Drumm will be presenting student scenarios at the high school level to further discuss intervention support in response to EOC assessments. Two questions to consider:

What support is your district/campus offering for students who are struggling in a content area or course?

What support is your district/campus offering for students who would like to graduate on the Distinguished Achievement Program whose scores are not reaching the Level III: Advanced Academic Performance for English III or Algebra II?

Materials from this presentation will be available at The Texas Education Agency has also posted a document to assist with understanding graduation requirements and STAAR at
