ESL Supplemental #154 Registration

As teachers work to get their summer PD in and update their certifications, we are finding many have questions about registration for the ESL Supplemental exam #154.  Although we offer several trainings to prepare teachers for the exam, we are not able to register you for it.  In order to sign up, you need to visit http://cms.texes-ets.org/.  For detailed information on how to proceed, download the Quick Start Guide for Test Registration.

Title III Compliance Report Online Training

Good afternoon! We have produced a training for folks who are responsible for completing the Title III portion of the Consolidated Compliance Report. Hello! It is hard to believe that the school year is winding down and that we are moving into the summer. We know that your staff may be looking for professional development to participate in that would enhance their teaching skills. The Bilingual/ESL team is offering several great training opportunities this summer to meet the needs of your teaching staffs. ELPS Instructional Tool Training; A Language Development Process for Beginning and Intermediate English Language Learners

This training is designed as a training of trainers to help educators become familiar with a new resource, the ELPS Instructional Tool. This guide will provide educators with insight into the essential instructional components for supporting ELLs identified at the beginning and intermediate levels of English proficiency and effectively design and deliver instruction to better meet the needs of these students. The training will provide an overview of the components of the guide, including the language development process, the Proficiency Level Descriptors, and an overview of the varying degrees of linguistic accommodations for each language domain. Participants who attend the training will receive copies of the ELPS Instructional Tool and training materials for their district. Please keep in mind that the individuals who attend the training will be responsible for disseminating the information to their appropriate staff.  Please register through the ESC ecampus system.
