Trish Flores: Coordinator for Curriculum and Instruction

Trish has been in education for over 20 years. During that time, she has worked with ELL students in a variety of roles: as an early childhood educator, reading interventionist, instructional coach, literacy coordinator and dual language coach. She holds a bachelors in education and a masters in language and literacy. In her current role as one of Region 13’s Curriculum and Instruction Coordinators, Trish overseas multiple teams, including Bilingual/ESL. Her passion for serving districts and charter institutions drives her to build the capacity of educators of all levels to better serve their ELLs. • 512-919-5116

Seth Herrington: Bilingual/ESL Program Manager & Bilingual/ESL Specialist

Seth Herrington serves our team in dual capacities – as Bilingual/ESL Specialist and as the program manager for the Bilingual/ESL team. He’s been involved in Bilingual/ESL programs for over 12 years.  Starting as volunteer tutor for a high school ESL pullout program, he later served as a bilingual classroom teacher and as a Literacy Coach before joining the Region XIII team as a Bilingual/ESL Education Specialist.

Seth helps Region 13 clients navigate the complexities of bilingual and ESL programs by partnering with districts and campuses to design systems, structures, and professional development initiatives that improve the learning outcomes of English Language Learners. Seth comes from a background in instructional coaching, and is passionate about empowering teachers, administrators, and other campus/district stakeholders to better meet the academic and linguistic needs of their students. • 512-919-5128

Cody Fernandez – Bilingual/ESL Specialist

Cody Fernandez is a Bilingual/ESL Education Specialist at Region 13. She has been in education for 16 years. She taught Middle School ESL, served as an ESL and Dual Language Coordinator, and as an Assistant Principal before joining the team at Region 13. She has her Masters in Linguistics and is currently working on her doctorate in Bilingual Curriculum and Instruction.

Ivonne Santiago: Bilingual/ESL Specialist

Ivonne Santiago’s experiences, as a child in the Bronx, inspire a deep-rooted commitment to providing a voice and serving students whose native language is not English.

Ivonne has been an educator for 27 years, and her experience ranges from Kindergarten to Middle School. She holds a BS in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College and an Ed.M. from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Currently, Ivonne serves as an Bilingual/ ESL Specialist working in school districts across central Texas in the implementation of their Bilingual and ESL programs. She also serves as an instructional coach for elementary and middle school with a specialization in multiple content areas. As an instructional coach, she supports teachers by sharing research based strategies that are proven to assist students in developing L1 and L2 as well as the acquisition of content-based skills necessary to be academically successful. Joy Van De Hoef – Bilingual/ESL Specialist

Joy Van De Hoef is passionate about the power of education and empowering others. Aside from being a lifelong learner, Joy has worked as a bilingual: dual language teacher, literacy specialist, curriculum writer, trainer, mentor, and coach. In addition to her Master of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, she has expanded her professional repertoire by earning numerous certifications to better equip her to support students and educators.

These irreplaceable opportunities have provided a valuable foundation for Joy’s current role as a Bilingual/ESL Education Specialist at Region 13. As a bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural educator, she serves as an instructional resource and advocate for the diverse needs of the ELL population. Joy thrives on contributing to student success and is eager to help educators flourish through collaboration during technical assistance, professional development, and coaching sessions. • 512-919-5147

Nancy Sanchez – Program Assistant

Nancy Sanchez is the program assistant for the Bilingual/ESL team. She has provided support in the field of education for 15 years.  In her position, she provides administrative support, prepares for, and helps facilitate workshops, conferences, and institutes.

Nancy is the mother of three children and actively provides parent support for the Campus Advisory Committee, PTA and Booster Club. • 512-919-5319
