Released STAAR questions update!

We shared these released STAAR questions from 2011-2012 in December. With the STAAR test right around the corner this would be a good time to re-visit them and look at the data behind each question. TEA released these questions along with the percent of students that answered  correctly. Knowing this information is vital to helping students learn, as you look at these questions ask yourself “why did so many students answer this incorrectly?’ Once you’ve pinpointed “why” students answered incorrectly take some time and consider how institution can be modified to support student achievement on STAAR. Below are the released questions, next to the questions are the percentage of students that answered the question correctly.

Julie Guthrie, Director of Assessments for Math and Science at Texas Education Agency, provided these additional STAAR items during recent TSELA/CAST presentations.  These items were live in the bank prior to her sharing them.
