Join the Austin Area Teachers’ of Mathematics Thursday, February 27, 6:00-8:00 pm for dinner and problem-solving!

The Math Teachers’ Circle of Austin is a professional learning community that brings together middle school math teachers and professional mathematicians so that they may work together and learn from each other.

Our goal is to help middle school mathematics teachers confidently incorporate open-ended, authentic mathematical problem solving in their teaching.   We hold monthly problem solving session during the school year and summer workshops.
MTC Austin sessions are free to all math teachers in the Austin area.

Please find attached an announcement for the February MTCA workshop. We
will introduce a very useful program for exploring problems in algebra and
geometry. To get the most out of the session, you will need to bring your
laptop or tablet to the workshop. All of the problems can be solved
without technology, so come even if you can’t bring your computer.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 27, 6:00-8:00 pm in NOA
1.116. As always, dinner, free parking, CPE credit, and GT credit will be
provided. Please note that this semester, we will be meeting on Thursday
evenings.

If you would like to join us, please register by Monday, February 24 at:

We would also appreciate you helping us get the word out about the Math
Teachers’ Circle by posting our flyer in your school or emailing it to
someone you know who may be interested.
