Opportunities for Teachers

Hi Region 13 Science Community!  A few opportunities have been shared with me that I want to spread to the wider community.

Region 13 is hosting a Mid-Winter Math and Science Camp on February 24th from 8:30 – 4.  There will be math and science sessions, vendors, and lunch is included. You can register here.

Manor ISD is hosting a mini-CAST this Saturday!  You can get more information and register here.

The Hill Country Science Mill is offering Spring Field Trips, Learning Lab experiences, and other Educational Outreach opportunities.

Beginning in the summer of 1990, the NASA’s Texas Space Grant Consortium initiated weeklong professional development training for teachers. This aerospace workshop, called LiftOff, emphasizes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) learning experiences by incorporating a space science theme supported by NASA missions. Teacher participants are provided with information and experiences through speakers, hands-on activities and field investigations that promote space science and enrichment activities for themselves and others.

The deadline for receiving applications is March 30 for LiftOff 2018 and should be submitted through the online system:

We are now accepting applications for G-Camp 2018! This is an all-expense-paid field trip from Texas to Colorado and New Mexico, and we will be taking 36 fifth through twelfth grade science teachers from around the country.

Please visit the web site below for more information and scroll to the bottom for the link to the application.
