SPP 7 Duplicate Student Issue

SPP 7 is experiencing an issue that has not been resolved with regards to allowing SPP 7 users to incorrectly re-enter a student record that may already exist in the system.  Once a user enters a duplicate record on a student, the system will then not let the campus entry designee submit the campus information nor the district certifier to certify and submit to TEA.  Each time this occurs, TEA must employ the development team to remove the duplicate student record, which takes some time to do.

Please advise SPP 7 personnel who may be entering student level data to refrain from trying to delete and re-enter students who already exist in the system.

For students who require an EXIT before campus and districts can submit, please refer to the following directions:

  • If you have “exit required” in the record requirement column for any student, you must provide exit information before certifying.
  • Go to the Exit Child Outcomes tab and select the campus.
  • Enter the student’s UID to locate the existing student in the application (only students with an entry record will be found).
  • Based on the EXIT reason chosen, you may be required to provide the EXIT COSF information, or not.
  • If you have students in the list who did not return from previous school years, and/or exited before this school year began, you must enter a date on or after July 1, 2016.

Please contact Lori Merrell at lori.merrell@esc13.txed.net  if you need additional help with creating EXIT records on a student identified in the system.
