In the era of limited budgets and even more limited time, SLPs in the schools are always looking for opportunities to stretch their professional development budgets and energies. Here are some suggestions for school-based SLPs to receive FREE CEUs for quality training!
The TSHA Eligibility Guideline Trainings – http://www5.esc13.net/speechlang/Eligibility.html. TSHA and the Texas Education Service Centers have made all of the eligibility guideline trainings available on-line as recorded webcasts. Most of them are already available, with the remaining few scheduled to be available by the end of this school year. SLPs in the schools can get 2 TSHA CEUs for each course (that’s 16 hours total). These coureses are FREE to TSHA members, or are $20 each for non-members (yet another great reason to join TSHA). All of the handouts and manuals are also available there as PDF documents to download and/or print.
